About

The idea for Family Unfriendly Campgrounds came about as I was looking over a new campgrounds in Washington state book. A large number of entries had "family friendly" in the description. I'm in my 20's and don't have a family. We are tent campers, so all of my reviews will come from that perspective. Camping for me and my friends is a chance for us to get out of the city, sit around a fire, and stay up talking and drinking late into the night. AKA partying. Of course many people with small children don't like it when you're up talking in loud voices until late in the night. Family friendly campgrounds actively discourage this kind of behavior with quiet hours and rangers or camp hosts on patrol. Also, just because I like to party doesn't mean I'm rude. I'd rather camp at a place where I'm not disturbing a child's sleep and I've often wished that there was a section in my campground book for places that cater to people like me. People who hate kids and like to party.
